Chucky Cheese and Shop Overhaul

Hi again =D So this week seems to be birthday week. My cousin's birthday was today. So we all went to Chucky Cheese and spent HOURS playing massive amounts of games. It was actually pretty fun =). It felt so good to be a kid, hahaha.
Before I continue this lovely story, I have an IMPORTANT ETSY SHOP ANNOUNCEMENT! PLEASE READ:

Recently I've been getting really sick. I've been getting allergic reactions often and I finally figured out the cause of the problem. I'm allergic to the jewelry I make! D= No seriously, I'm just allergic to the metal toggle clasps on the bracelets and a few other metals. What does this mean for the shop? D=?? I WILL BE DOING A MAJOR OVERHAUL. I can't work with these metals anymore because they get me sick =/. These are the new changes I WILL be implementing for the shop:

- ALL bracelets will NOT posses metal toggle clasps anymore, they will ALL be adjustable! Good news eh? =)
-I WILL be closing down my earrings section. Earrings will go on sale on May 31st. Once they are ALL gone, that is the last the section will live. Sorry if this brings sad news to anyone =(.
-I will be adding an increased amount of doll needle wallets, new bracelets, and cards with changed prices
-A new SUPPLIES section will be added to sell out all the metals and supplies I can't really work with anymore. Good opportunity for those who have been asking about the items I use.
-I WILL be adding a new section to the shop. I'm not telling what it is though >=D It's a surprise!!

Thanks for reading that everyone! AND NOW, a very short video! =D This is Chucky and I hanging out on the dance machine. Enjoy =).

Dirty Wow Wow and Roll Up Bags

Introducing the fold & roll up make up brush bag!!! That sounds like some type of long winded super power name XD. I made this bag/pouch for a custom order! The person wanted 20 slots where she could hold different sized brushes. Beyond that, I could make whatever I wanted =D. I picked out these lovely fabrics and created the pattern myself =). It ties with a thin embroidery floss braided string. You can fold it...

...roll it...

...and fold it again! =D It's great to carry around in your bag instead of throwing your brushes in a zip lock bag XD.

This is the inside. I made it really simple:2 rows, 10 slots each.

There are three different sized slots for larger brushes =).

The design was inspired by this roll up bag/pouch I made for myself to hold my needles for crocheting =D.

This is the interior. Its really nifty when going out. I can defiantly do custom order of these if anyone is interested in one =). I can even personalize it for your own style =D. Just leave me a convo on etsy or at my email: pikithins@gmail.com

On another note, I recommend EVERYONE buy this book! Dirty Wow Wow. These two authors got together and documented old childhood toys adults still have =). There is a story written about each beat up and cherished toy.

Its a quick read too, but some of the stories are too adorable to pass up, especially the one where this woman used to carry her doll with her and it was thrown out the car window into the highway =O. The father saved the doll though =).

Traversing Through Projects

I've been pretty busy with finishing large orders. The one above is a commissioned piece for ArtTales-Leftz =D. It's her tribal plush traveling through the jungle after a busy day of catching food for dinner. The sun sets, the land turning dark while they head home. This piece is done in color pencil and acrylic paint on illustration board!

This piece is half done. It was inspired by the tribal piece I did for Leftz. I still have to add creatures to this one and fix the sky =D. This piece is done completely in color pencil on illustration board.

Another order I worked on was for a men's bracelet. I kept wondering to myself: How the hell am I going to make a bracelet look manly for a man to wear!? When I saw these leather cords and wooden beads at the store I pick up supplies at, I found the perfect solution =). I love it.

Other then that, I've been busy typing my dreams down. Is it normal to dream so frequently? I wake up a lot at night, so sometimes I'll have more than one dream. Pretty crazy XD. I'm working on updating that blog today with two new dreams I had.

Aside from that, how was YOUR day? XD Don't forget to enter my giveaway! It ends on May 30th!!! http://pikithins.blogspot.com/2010/05/bracelet-and-doll-giveaway.html

Cherry Blossom Festival!

Hello everyone! Yesterday I attended a Cherry Blossom Festival called Sakura Matsuri. This festival celebrates the blooming of the Cherry Blossom. I have way too many photos, so if you want to see the rest, they are on my facebook. If your not my friend on facebook, well, er, your out of luck there XD. The first event we went to see was Taiko Drumming. AMAZING, like always! I would love to learn how to play them!

Those feet are my sister and I. We were sitting on the grass while watching the performance. Imagine feeling the pounding of the drums vibrating into your feet? Its an amazing feeling (The yellow feet are mine and the white feet is my sister).

After we watched the performance, we decided to walk around the whole garden. The next place we went to was the japanese garden. Its tough getting pictures at this place because A LOT of people attended the festival. That is me in the red, my sister in the blue, and my best friend wearing a Lolita cosplay outfit. There were many teenagers dressed in cosplay!

This is my other best friend! We went over to the childrens garden (probably the best garden there, why do kids get all the cool stuff?).

My niece (in red) and my cousin (in green) came with us as well wearing Chinese outfits. Haha, Chinese outfits to a japanese festival. My mom couldn't find small kimonos for them, heh.

Everything is mini sized in the childrens garden like this small river. So cute!

I found this area at the back of the childrens garden that was covered in bamboo and a wooden staircase. So we took pictures there too! My sister helped me put my make up on and I created the flower hairpiece in my hair. Pretty cool eh? Eh!?

Yup, you can tell we were having a photo shoot moment hahahah XD.

Yes, I am naturally this pale, no white make up needed XD. Hope you enjoyed this post! =)
