A Little Out of It

That's pretty much how I've been the past few days: listening to my mp3 and shunning away from everyone. Maybe its the heat. I just been feeling a little down lately. Have you ever felt even though your living, your floating in life? Hovering over where you could be and what you could be doing, feeling as if your cramped into a tiny box while your limps ache?

I'm on auto-pilot, not paying attention to everything around me because I don't know what to do with myself. Even though I'm standing, there's strings holding me up, pretending motivation. I just feel tired.

I want to get somewhere. Where am I going?

Paper Button Flowers

Awhile ago, my good friend ArtTales posted on her blog about a button flower tutorial. At the time, I had this HUGE urge to make some button flowers too...but with paper also =). Off to the store I went and came out with this cute bouquet!
The materials:
Brown, red, white, and tan buttons
Thick white and cream card stock with silver and brown designs that shimmer.
(I stamped the paper out with scalloped edges)
Orange and red wire for stems
Plaid fabric and a transparent bow to tie it all together!

I created a huge assortment of brown paper flowers with red buttons...but I don't know what to do with them! They have been sitting in a box with no where to go lol.
Thanks to everyone who commented on my coffee poll. More responses are welcome before I decide what to do with the info.

Coffee Bracelets

I am in LOVE right now XD. These bracelets were really fun to create! The dark brown one is called the Mocha bracelet (done for a custom order). I used a wooden button as a closure. The white buttoned bracelet is called the Hazelnut bracelet. I did this bracelet for an item review for a blog I'll be featured on!

Even though I don't like coffee, I LOVE the smell of it and the names! I was wondering if I should add a section where customers can order coffee: A Pikithins Coffeeshop service (meaning, the customer tells me the name of the coffee they want and I create it into a bracelet. How awesome is that!?)? (The bracelets aren't scented or anything, they would just represent the coffee you love!) It can even be a special service where they can order their 'coffee' for someone and I send a message to that person along with the bracelet! It'll have special packaging and everything! Special additions you know? OOAK? Hehe. Yummy! Tell me what you think!

I can even do it with dolls too! The bracelets can be the coffee and the dolls can be the snacks =D hehe.

Marina

Evening everyone. I thought I'd share my small venture to the marina on Staten Island. Its a really relaxing place and especially beautiful when the sun sets =). My mother, a photographer, wanted to practice shots with lighting, so I was her guinea pig lol. I drew a heart on my skin with my nails.

Yes, I know. I'm super pale =P. I like myself that way, haha. The weather was perfect out today.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, haha.

My mom has a thing for using man made items as frames.

Just chilling out on the rocks and watching the boats sail around =).

I got a little more loose in this picture. One of my favorites. I vowed my mother that I could get more lean in two weeks since I haven't been practicing my regular yoga recently. Heh. Well, thanks for checking in =).

Buttons and Skin Writing

New bracelets! AH! =D I really wanted to create bracelets that use buttons as closures. So, the past two days I went on a button adventure =). I still have a couple more I didn't use, but I'm sure I'll fine awesome bracelet designs for them! I thought I'd go for a more simpler style of bracelet to let the buttons be the focal point.

Omg, this makes me laugh! I found these buttons and KNEW they were destined for bracelets! These bracelets are called the Twisted Sisters. The black sister is Yvette and the Red sister is Sophia (named after two of my sisters). They are devious little things, hehe. You can buy them as a set or separately. All these bracelets will be in the shop tomorrow.

During my button adventure, I also bought these huge buttons =). The white one is larger than my head! I have two buttons just like these, but in red. The small button, like the blue one, is what I use to create my bracelets! Very nifty.

Now to a different topic. About a week ago I found out I have a skin condition called Dermatographic Urticaria. Its pretty much when your cells have weak membrane walls, letting histamine produce. When you scratch, red welts appear in the shape you scratch. That's why its also called skin writing. Because of this, I can't wear any of the bracelets I create. It won't stop me though! I actually want to do a photoshoot (you can see past photoshoots on my blog) of various writings on my body. Above I wrote 'save me' on my skin. At first it was red, but now its faded to white on my skin.

SO, if you have any type of quote or word that would be interesting for skin writing, let me know by posting a comment. Much appreciated, thanks =D. Would really love to hear from you!

New Pillow Dolls and Fabric Giveaway

The new set is here! =D =D =D
These pillow creatures are called Crescents. Aren't they adorable? =D?? This is probably my favorite set made so far. It was created using embroidery floss, plaid fabric, buttons, and felt.

I WAS creating a fourth set, but it came out horrible, so I scraped it =(. I'll stick to these sets for now XD I've been working on expanding the doll section for awhile. So far so good. I'll be adding more goodies =) This set is already in the shop! Go check it out =P.

Isn't this fabric lovely? I don't want it, hahaha. Why may you ask? It doesn't fit the look of my store. My sister gave me this fabric and now I'm passing it on to anyone who is interested in taking it. This type of fabric is very expensive to come by. It has a lovely sheen to it and is black and orange at the same time. Its a pretty awesome piece of fabric. I have about 3 yds and 24 in x 1 yd and 24 in. of this fabric.

This fabric is exactly like the one above but with a different design. I have 3 yds and 12 in x 1 yd and 23 in of this fabric. If you would like some, leave a comment (with info on how to contact you) on this post and I'll get in touch with you =). All I ask is that you pay for shipping. Cost of shipping may vary depending on how much you want of the fabric. First come, first serve basis!

Pillow Dolls

Hi hi. I made some new dolls =D They are more simpler in design than my usual dolls, but they look so cute when you have them in sets! =D

They seem to fit best in being pillows on a couch or bed. Each set comes with three dolls in small medium and large. I think I'll put them in the shop...maybe.

I love this set too. I wanted to work with dolls that were more wide in form. They are made out of felt, buttons, embroidery floss and some left over fabric a store was giving out =). I'm planning on making another set. The dolls look better in person XD I usually have trouble photographing dolls haha.
